Moving to Lincoln
The historic city of Lincoln is situated on the A15 main road between Grantham and Scunthorpe.
A prominent feature in British history, Lincoln once boasted the world’s tallest building, Lincoln Cathedral, until 1548. The city has seen much change over the years but the historic buildings remain intact.
Lincoln is a cathedral city and is the county town of Lincolnshire. The city has two universities; the University of Lincoln and Bishop Grosseteste University and several popular sporting teams including the Lincoln City FC.
When considering places to live in Lincoln you might be asked if you are looking in the uphill or downhill area, the city is split by the Lincoln Cliff.
The majority of the historic part of Lincoln is situated in the uphill area, Eastgate in particular is a desirable place to live. Uphill is also the location of several well regarded schools including St Mary’s and Minister, both independent schools.

Stamford Property Search
As a long-standing Stamford resident, Ashley has often found that people initially move here for the architecture, schools or reputation, but stay because of the quality of everyday life.
Stamford combines beautiful surroundings with genuine practicality, offering independent businesses, strong community spirit and easy access to both London and the countryside. It remains, in his view, one of the most complete and liveable market towns to be found anywhere in the UK.
Much of that appeal lies in its remarkable architecture: this Georgian town is home to more than 400 Grade I and II listed buildings.
Well placed beside the A1, Stamford puts Peterborough within a short drive, with Leicester and Cambridge also within easy reach, while regular services from the town’s station reach London King’s Cross via Peterborough in under an hour and a half.
The town is well served by the highly regarded Stamford Endowed Schools, comprising Stamford Preparatory, Stamford High School for girls and Stamford School for boys.
Prime homes in Stamford’s most desirable locations rarely reach the open market, which can make finding the right property difficult. Ashley draws on a network of contacts built over many years in the local industry, often providing access to homes that are never publicly advertised.

Lincolnshire Wolds Property
The Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is only sparsely populated, many of the towns in the area are set around the outside of the Wolds.
The market town of Louth is known as the ‘Capital of the Wolds’, the town boasts a range of amenities, many independent shops and has several schools including the well-regarded King Edward VI Grammar School.
The charming town of Caistor is at the northern end of the Wolds, as with many of the towns in the area it boasts many period properties, it was originally a Roman fortress, evidence of which still remains.
At the southern end of the Lincolnshire Wolds is Horncastle which some refer to as the gateway to the Wolds. Horncastle has an array of shops and leisure facilities as well as a choice of schools including Banovallum School and Queen Elizabeth Grammar School.

Villages around Grantham
The market town of Grantham boasts excellent transport connections. Many seeking property in Lincolnshire look to be within a short distance of the town as it offers an easy commute by train or car. It’s also popular with families due to the good schooling options in the area.
