Garrington is delighted to be recognised in the 2025 Spear’s Property Indices – a respected benchmark for excellence across the property, wealth and private client sectors.
Unlike many industry awards that require submissions or paid entries, the Spear’s Property Indices are editorially led and independently compiled. Inclusion is based on a rigorous research process combining peer nominations, client feedback, and in-house analysis by the Spear’s research and editorial teams.
This makes recognition in the Spear’s Property Indices a true mark of distinction – one that reflects professional reputation, client satisfaction and meaningful impact within the sector.
To be featured multiple times across two of the most fiercely competed categories – Best UK Country Property Specialists and Best Buying Agents for Prime London Property – is a proud moment for our team.
At Garrington, we build lasting relationships, often supporting clients through several chapters of their property ownership journey.
Recognition of this kind highlights the professionalism of our advisers, and the personal, considered service that underpins everything we do.
Celebrating Country Expertise
Country properties are among the most emotionally driven and carefully considered purchases our clients make. We’re pleased that four members of our national team have been recognised in this year’s Spear’s Index for their outstanding guidance in this area. Here is what Speers had to say about them:
Jonathan Hopper – Top Flight
Jonathan Hopper is recognised in the Top Flight tier of the Spear’s Property Indices 2025. As our Chief Executive, Jonathan leads the Garrington team. With nearly three decades of experience, he remains client facing, with a number of high-value acquisitions, acting for entrepreneurs, executives and high-profile clients across the country as well as providing regular commentary for the Sunday Times, Financial Times and Bloomberg among others.
The Spear’s research team commented that Jonathan is “well respected for his ability to ‘surprise and delight’ clients. He excels in sourcing and acquiring some of the finest high-value property which exceeds a client’s expectations and requirements.”
Danny Rowland – Recommended
Ranked for a second year, Danny Rowland specialises in property searches across Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and West Sussex. He acts for a broad spectrum of clients, from international buyers and investors to families relocating from London.
According to Spear’s, Danny “aims to tackle his property searches with a determined, thorough approach and a friendly manner. His network of contacts and his in-depth knowledge of the local market help him source off-market properties and ensure that his clients find properties tailored to their needs.”
David Lewis – Recommended
Covering the North West from his base in Cheshire, David is also ranked in the Spear’s Property Indices for a second successive year. He brings a wealth of experience spanning relocation, lettings and high-end acquisitions.
Spear’s said that David’s “expertise in the industry has been fine-tuned through decades of independent experience”
David assists international clients moving to the UK as well as domestic and corporate clients.
Madeleine Simpson – Recommended
Making a big impact in the Surrey and West Sussex property market’s, Madeleine (Maddy) Simpson has been newly recognised by the Spear’s research team. With over 30 years in the property industry and a lifelong connection to Surrey, Maddy offers deep local knowledge across Surrey, North Hampshire and West Sussex.
Spear’s remarked that Maddy is “committed to being the ‘eyes and ears on the ground’ for her clients and will go the extra mile to fulfil their expectations.” Maddy works closely with her clients throughout the buying process, often introducing trusted architects and contractors to support their plans through to completion.
Recognised for Prime London Buying

As Managing Director, Nicholas Finn plays a key role in shaping Garrington’s client experience in London and nationally. With a background in estate agency, asset management and property investment, he brings both structure and sensitivity to each brief.
Spear’s commented “Nicholas Finn’s 20-plus-year career has not only been defined by pragmatism and hard work, but also the sense to follow his own instincts where necessary.”
